Scott and Kristen Ebsen

summer in Florida

July 4, 2008 · No Comments

We are currently in Winter Park, Florida for a few weeks taking seminary level classes through Campus Crusade for Christ.  It is a great opportunity for us to further our education so that we will be more equipped to invest in the lives of college students & lead them spiritually.

It has been such a blessing to be here!  It’s really refreshing to hear from so many godly teaches who love the Word and pass on their knowledge and wisdom to us!  We have been very busy studying, writing and reading.  But it is all worth it.  It has been so Christ-centered which has increased our passion for Jesus and the Bible.  We wish we could pass on to you every word we’ve heard!

Resource: our teacher today, Richard Pratt, is the president of Third Millennium Ministries.  Their heart is to give Biblical education for the world, for free!  Check out their ministry to watch videos & receive free Biblical education! AMAZING!

Kristen’s jaw surgery

March 31, 2008 · No Comments

Hi friends & family!

Thank you for all your prayers throughout my LONG preparation for my jaw surgery. Praise the Lord, the day is here!!! My surgery is tomorrow:

Tuesday, April 1 @ 9am at Mercy East Anderson (Cincinnati)
I will be getting there at 7am, and it will be 4 hours long! I’ll be staying overnight in intensive care– the earliest I will be released is 6pm on Wed. (I may have to stay Wed. night as well). Once released, I’ll be staying at our home in Oxford.

Please pray:
-for wisdom for the surgeon & doctors.
-that recovery will be quick (the swelling will continue to get worse for 4 days, then I will need at least another 3-6 days for the initial recovery).
-the surgery will heal the pain I experience & prevent any further jaw problems (TMJ).
-that the numbness in my face will go away quickly (there is a possibility that I will not regain feeling in areas around my mouth).
-pray that Scott would have patience in my recovery & know how to best serve me.

Fun facts :)
-I WILL be on a liquid diet, for at least the first couple of days (hopefully that is all).
-I will NOT be wired shut– they are placing titanium pins in my jaw to hold it together (forever), & I’ll have elastic bands to help the recovery.
-the titanium pins will NOT set off metal detectors in the airport.

Thank you for keeping Scott & I in your prayers! We really appreciate all of you!!!!

Spring Break in ROME!

March 12, 2008 · No Comments

Ciao friends & family!

We are on our way to Rome, Italy for Miami’s spring break trip with 30 students & 5 staff!  We can’t wait to visit our new home!!!

Please join us in praying for our time in Rome:

  • That God would be at work now preparing the hearts of students who will hear the Gospel. That He would bring events and conversations now that would build openness to Christ and expose their need for Him.
  • That God would be at work now preparing our hearts and our fellow spring breakers. That we would grow in our love for Jesus, and step out in faith and trust Him in new ways. That He would give us His heart for the world lost without Him.
  • That God would give us knowledge and understanding of Rome and its students through our time here that would help us know how to better reach the city for Christ.
  • That God would use the spring break teams to generate lasting momentum for our movements. That from the Italians we meet and share the Gospel with, He would raise up lifetime laborers for the Kingdom.
  •  We look forward to sharing with you what the Lord does this spring break in Rome!!!

    prayer

    January 14, 2008 · No Comments

Please keep us in your prayers, as we are seeking the Lord about our plans for next year! We are planning on going overseas with one of Miami’s partnerships in fall 2008.  What we are still figuring out is which location, Rome or Zimbabwe.    We will update you as soon as the decision has been made, hopefully in the next week.  But we would really appreciate your prayers as we follow the Lord during this time.  Thanks!
